A Year in Luke/ActsSample

Paul spends time talking with Felix and his Jewish wife, Drusilla, about Jesus. Notice that the three subjects they discuss are justice, self-control, and coming judgment (v25). Felix becomes frightened, it is interesting to talk about the Way of Jesus as an idea, but when it becomes reality he is not prepared to face it.
The fear of God is recognizing that living any other way than in relationship with God is going to lead to destruction. Human fear is thinking that things like justice, self-control, and judgment are best avoided because they initially do not seem accessible. This is why Jesus came, though, to show the love of God that enables relationship to be possible and salvation attainable for all.
