A Year in Luke/ActsSample

We see from Peter’s obedience another example of how Acts is really all about what God is doing through the Spirit as the gospel spreads. Of course, people play an integral part, but it is as Peter shares that the Holy Spirit falls and transforms the lives of Cornelius and his household. Imagine being one of the circumcised believers who had joined Peter on this intriguing quest. You have come because of two strange visions, and suddenly, before your eyes, the Spirit that you are only just beginning to get used to falls on a group of Gentiles! At Peter’s instruction, you hurriedly run around looking for some water to baptize them in. Life in the early church was certainly exciting, if nothing else.
