A Year of Prayer: Season One Weekday DevotionalsSample

If you’re reading this by yourself, get a pen and paper or device handy to write down your answers to the following. Or, if you’re with other people, discuss the following:
1. Read the scripture Isaiah 40:28-29 aloud. What words stick out to you? Why?
2. ‘He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.’ When have you experienced this?
3. Read the scripture backward aloud, allowing your brain to process the words out of order. What do you notice, particularly words, thoughts, or observations this time?
Prayer: Jesus, make me new in your image. Let me experience restless hope in the bringing of your kingdom on earth.
Action: share your ideas today and solicit a friend's advice.
