Acts 3:1-10 | Worship in the Good, in the Bad, and With HopeSample

The story is about so much more than a lame beggar now able to walk. It’s a story of a life being changed by the power of Christ. More than walk, this man rushes into the temple jumping and praising God. This is what it means to be restored. It’s the full change of a person who has come to see the grace and mercy God is extending through Jesus.
The man is changed. Not just his body, but also his heart. He worships God and brings him glory. The response of a person who comes to realize the goodness and glory of God is worship.
Some people only worship in the good times. It’s a response to God only when he brings good things. But what about in hard times? When we don’t see his goodness? The response is worship too. A heart changed by the power of God doesn’t just bring praise to God for what he gives. It brings praise to God for who he is.
The lame beggar praised God when he was healed. What a testimony to God! But the lame beggar also laid at the temple each day, maybe just to beg, but maybe with a daily hope in God that continued to acknowledge the goodness of who he is.
This story in Acts 3 reminds us to turn to him. In the good times, in the bad times, and with hope. It’s been said there’s no such thing as “helpless” or “hopeless” when it comes to God. Whatever your situation and whatever your struggle, no matter if it lasts a moment or a lifetime, God invites you to trust in him. Worship him, with hope.
