Acts 3:1-10 | Worship in the Good, in the Bad, and With HopeSample

We’ve come to Acts 3. It’s the first episode on the heels of Pentecost where the Holy Spirit is poured out and Peter calls the onlookers to become a part of Jesus’s kingdom and the new people of God. Here in Acts 3, we see that power and invitation spreading.
The story captures all the brazen hope so characteristic of the Bible. A hopeless beggar. A deep compassion. A shameless invitation to a miracle without any sense of hesitation. God at work! A life changed! People trying to make sense of it. All in the context of a place deeply embedded in Israel’s history.
This week we’ll break down the beginning of this incredible story. Today, just familiarize yourself with it. What questions does it raise? What hope does it stir? What would you do in Peter and John’s shoes?
