Be HumbleSample

When you hear the words “be humble,” maybe the first thing you think is that it means you must think lowly or less of yourself. But that’s not what God calls us to with the command to choose humility. When we think poorly of ourselves, we’re thinking poorly of God’s work. That’s not the point at all!
Choosing humility means choosing to see ourselves as God’s creation and celebrating the way we’re made. Not because we think it’s better than anyone else, but because we know that we’re made by God! If we believe that God created us with value and purpose, then we know that the only thing that gets to define our worth is God.
Today, take a walk outside and look at the world around you. Let all the things you see—the trees, the sky, the flowers, the people—remind you that the same God who created all that amazing stuff created you, too.
