Maintaining Focus
Today, we’re focusing on, well, focus! Paul talks about not running aimlessly or boxing like someone beating the air. This is all about keeping our eyes on Jesus.
Hebrews 12:2 says, "Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God." Our focus should always be on Jesus because He is our ultimate example and goal.
When our focus is on Jesus, everything else falls into place. We see our trials and challenges through the lens of His grace and power. It's like having spiritual blinders on, keeping us from getting distracted by the world. Jesus endured the cross for the joy set before Him, and we, too, can endure our race with joy when we keep our eyes fixed on Him.
Identify distractions in your life and find ways to minimize them. Set daily reminders to refocus on Jesus. Let His example inspire you to keep running your race with joy and determination.
