Sit, Walk, Stand - a 40 Day Walk Through of EphesiansSample

Eph 2:8-9
Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.
We live in a transactional world, and it’s so easy to let it creep into our thinking when it comes to our faith. “Do good to get good.” But salvation is a gift of God that we access by grace through faith. GRACE is about getting what we don’t deserve. This is why no one should develop pride regarding their spirituality.
We cannot quantify faith. There’s no such thing as a “good Christian” or “bad Christian”. Either you’re a Christian or you’re not.
When we stumble in our convictions and character, we can try to fix it by DOING something, but the motivation is to “earn back” God’s favour. But salvation is a free gift, so while correcting behaviour and attitudes is always a good thing, it can never be about earning your salvation. If you never earned it to begin with, you can’t buy it back by something you do or have.
We don’t do good to get accepted.
We are accepted, so we do good.

About this Plan

Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? The Christian walk can make you feel like striving when really everything has been done for you by Jesus, but there is still so much to be done. This is the tension every Christian walks in. The tension between the NOW & the NOT-YET. We are SEATED with Jesus, now WALK IT OUT, so that you may STAND.
