God's Redemption Story (The Gospels)Sample

The Risen Christ - Day 9
When Peter swam to meet Jesus, the Christ who died to save his betraying hide could have given the guy a piece of his mind. He could have chastised him for being a lousy friend. He could have lectured about all the indignities and pain he had suffered on Peter’s behalf. Instead, when Peter hit dry ground, Jesus served breakfast.
You see, Jesus didn’t die so he could look down his nose at a bunch of pitiful little humans who couldn’t save themselves. He did it for a relationship. What God wants most is to be with us, but we were sinful and dirty and couldn’t be near God. So Jesus died to make us clean and restore our relationship with God. He came near to us so we could be near to him.
