God's Redemption Story (The Gospels)Sample

Life & Teachings of Jesus - Day 23
Expectations often lead us to disappointment. We expect people to act a certain way, but they don’t read our minds. We plan events, but plans have to change. We strive for goals or define success, but we don’t get there when we hoped.
The people in Jerusalem had expectations of Jesus. The crowds expected him to conquer the Romans. The Pharisees expected him to maintain the status quo. Both were disappointed.
We have expectations of God sometimes, don’t we? We expect health, provision, and happiness. But he didn’t come to make us comfortable in this broken world. He came to heal us, clean us, and lead us to his Father. Let’s set aside our expectations, and watch him do great things.
