God's Redemption Story (The Gospels)Sample

Life & Teachings of Jesus - Day 16
The Pharisees posed a political question to Jesus. Should God’s people pay taxes to the government? The whole situation was set up to trap Jesus, fire up the crowd’s political opinions, and start a riot. But as usual, Jesus turned the tables and gave an answer no one expected.
The local politics of the day were (and still are) simply a construction of mankind having no bearing on our relationship with God. Caesar and Washington made money to look like themselves, so let Caesar or Washington have it.
But God made us as an image of him. What God wants from us is not monetary or political. God wants our hearts.
