Change often means letting go of some things to make room for new things. Whether it's as simple as cleaning out your closet for the new school year or as complex as ending a friendship that isn’t healthy anymore, change always means something old must go so something new can come. It can be hard to say goodbye, even to things that aren't good for us. But God’s Word reminds us that there is a time and a purpose for both embracing and turning away. There is a time and a purpose for both holding on and letting go. And even when it’s hard, when God asks us to let go, we can trust that we’re making room for something new—something greater—on the other side.
This week, think about the things in your life that God may be asking you to let go of right now. Pray for the courage to let go of what might be holding you back and make room for the ‘new’ that’s coming on the other side.
