There were many changes that the shift from middle school to high school brought, but having finals for the first time is what sticks out the most. During my first year of high school, I did not worry. Even though teachers talked about final exam week all year, I didn’t think it would be that bad. Then, it happened. I had my first final exam of the week. I stared at the math equations; my mind went blank, and I couldn’t remember how to solve them. I realized I heavily underestimated finals week. Years later, the same thing always happens. I make it to the middle of finals week and instantly lose all motivation to do anything else. The same thing can happen in our faith.
When life gets hard or our future seems uncertain, we can lose hope, and our trust in God can begin to tremble. But there is hope when we feel this way! Paul tells the church in Corinth that we are being renewed every single day through the power of the Holy Spirit. No matter what is going on around us, we are being renewed with the strength needed to push forward.
Today, take a deep breath, ask God for strength and peace, and remember that no matter what you go through in life, you can trust God to renew you, especially when you need it most.
