Let's Talk About...What to Do When Adults DisagreeSample

Have you ever witnessed someone you looked up to get into an argument or disagreement? At some point, there is a high likelihood we will see a disagreement among leaders that influence our lives. When people argue, they often want to win people over to their side, but that shouldn’t be the goal. Instead, we should want our conversations to glorify the Lord in all we do. Even as students, we can choose to live at a higher standard. We can live as an example and remind those around us that the mouth we use to praise God is the same mouth we use to curse, argue, or speak down to others. Sure, it may feel good to win an argument, but it feels better to live the way God calls us to live, which is so much more than that. Disagreement that leads to dishonoring others or dividing our relationships is not what we should want. As students, we can be an example of keeping love at the center of all conflict and disagreement no matter who it is between.
Today, think about how you can be a living example of Christ’s love and character for adults, leaders, and students alike.
