Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample

So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, my great army which I sent among you (Joel 2:25).
When will God fulfill his promise of restoration?
Disaster strikes Judah without notice. A foreboding black cloud of dreaded locusts invade the land (Joel 1). Joel transitions from an army of locusts to a human army (Joel 2). The prophet warns, "For the day of the LORD is coming, for it is at hand: a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, like the morning clouds spread over the mountains. A people come" (Joel 2:1-2). Unlike locusts that generally come from the south, this army approaches from the north (Joel 2:20). Revelation 6-19 depicts the Day of the Lord. It will culminate with the Second Coming of Jesus (Revelation 19:11-21) and leads to the restorative millennial kingdom (Revelation 20).
Employment Point: Anticipate the Prince of Peace, who fulfills His promises.
