Over the last three days, you studied Matthew 25:14-30. You considered how this parable is relevant in today's cultural context. You also examined the implications for your beliefs, habits, and decisions. Now, let's explore practical steps you can take to dig up and utilize the talents God has given you.

Practical Recommendation One | Self-Reflection and Prayer

• Designate time this week to reflect on your gifts and passions. Engage in prayerful introspection, seeking God's guidance in identifying your talents. Ask yourself questions like, "What am I naturally good at?" and "What brings me joy and fulfillment?" Invite the Holy Spirit to reveal areas where you may have buried your talents out of fear or insecurity.
• Spend time reading Romans 12:6-8 which encourages believers to use their gifts diligently for God’s purposes.

Practical Recommendation Two | Seek Accountability and Mentorship

• Surround yourself with wise counsel and accountability partners who can help you discern and develop your talents. Seek out a mentor or trusted advisor who can provide guidance and encouragement as you step into leadership roles at work, in business, at church, and in your home. Allow them to challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and fully embrace the gifts God has entrusted to you.
• Reflect on Proverbs 15:22 which reminds us, "Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers, they succeed."

Practical Recommendation Three | Take Action and Step Out in Faith

• Don't let fear paralyze you. Instead, take intentional steps to use your talents for God's glory. Whether it's volunteering in your church, leading a small group, using your gifts in your community, or stepping up in your career or business, be proactive in seeking opportunities to serve others. Trust in God's provision and step out in faith, knowing that He has equipped you for such a time as this (Esther 4:14).
• As you read James 2:26, "For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead,” allow God to stretch and grow you as you obediently use your gifts.

As you commit to faithfully stewarding your talents for God’s glory and the advancement of His kingdom, remember that God has uniquely gifted you for this purpose. By digging up and cultivating your talents, you will not only fulfill God's will for your life but also inspire and empower others to do the same. May you courageously step out in faith, knowing that God is with you every step of the way.

Let's embrace the journey of discovering, developing, and deploying our talents for the glory of our Master, so that we, too, hear the words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21).
