King & KingdomsSample

Ecclesiastes ends where the book of Proverbs begins, with some wise advise, and that is to fear the Lord. This is the attitude of respect, reverence, and awe the we show Him because of our love and respect for what He has done for us. It shows respect to His greatness and power. We who fear the Lord will obey His Word, we will not tempt ourselves by playing with sin. This healthy fear of Lord will allow us to press into God on a daily basis, but an unhealthy fear of the Lord will cause us to be afraid of Him and run away from His mercies.
Oswald Chambers once said "The remarkable thing about fearing God, is that, when you fear God, you fear nothing else; whereas, if you do not fear God, you fear everything else."
Think it Over: What do you think of when you think about fearing God? Is it a good image or a bad one? Think of how God could use fear in a healthy way.
