DAY 360 OF 365

Back in the mid-sixties, there was extensive dialogue about the "God is Dead" movement. Some who used the phrase were not asserting that God no longer existed, but that many who professed to believe in God were no longer living up to their beliefs. They lived as though God were dead. For many people, that sentiment is still around. Multitudes today reject the moral values that God has given us in His Word. They establish their own value system. Jesus Christ came to earth and revealed God more fully. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” After giving His life as a ransom for our sins and rising again, He charged His people to take the Good News into the entire world. They are to tell people that God loves them and is ready to forgive them if they will turn from their sins and accept His Son as their Savior. We learn from the book of Acts that Jesus Christ’s followers took this message into Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria. The Apostle Paul took the same message into Asia Minor, Greece, and finally, Rome. Other early Christians spread the message into Africa and India. Today, roughly one-third of the earth’s 6.3 billion people embrace the Gospel. The other two-thirds are waiting to receive the message. The baton for transmitting the Gospel and moral values is now in our hands. Let us not drop the baton.
