DAY 333 OF 365

The United Negro College Fund provides scholarships for needy students. Their mission is to give students of color access to a college education. In a much deeper sense, access is what Jesus Christ provides for those who accept Him as their Savior. He gives us access to God His Father. The Bible explains our need for access to God this way. God is pure and holy. The only way humans can have acceptance to God is by the shedding of blood. Somebody has to die in order for humans to have access to a holy God. In the Hebrew sacrificial system, God permitted the people to substitute animals as sacrifices on a temporary basis. He allowed this until someone offered a perfect sacrifice to pay humanity's sin debt. When no descendant of Adam sufficed, God sent His own perfect Son into the world. Jesus Christ is God's perfect sacrificial Lamb. His death satisfies God's perfect holiness for all who accept Him as their Savior. The author of Hebrews 10 says now that Christ has shed His blood for us, we can boldly enter God's presence. Jesus Christ now serves as our Great High Priest. We can bring all our cares and concerns to God because He fully accepts us because of Jesus. We can then leave God's throne room and go out into our world to serve as lights and salt. We help convey the truth that others can find life and power to live godly and justly through Jesus Christ.
