DAY 156 OF 365

According to the Pew Survey of religion, less than 2% of Americans claim to be atheists. That leaves more than 90% who claim to believe in God. Even though many people who claim faith in God do not give Him the honor and obedience He deserves, still the belief that God exists can be the first step toward a relationship with God. Throughout history, multitudes of people have testified of having an intimate connection with God. They declare that knowing God is the most rewarding relationship a person can have. Jeremiah, the prophet, was one such person. In his book, chapter 10, he exalts in God by saying, “LORD, there is no one like you! For you are great, and your name is full of power. Who would not fear you, O King of nations? That title belongs to you alone! Among all the wise people of the earth and in all the kingdoms of the world, there is no one like you. People who worship idols are stupid and foolish. The LORD is the only true God. He is the living God and the everlasting King! The whole earth trembles at his anger. The nations cannot stand up to his wrath. God made the earth by his power and he preserves it by his wisdom.” Now since we know that God exists, that He created and sustains everything, and that He will call each of us to account for the things we do in our bodies, it makes good sense to accept His Son, and to live each day in ways that please Him.
