DAY 145 OF 365

If on Google you enter the phrase “Keys to Success,” you will get back millions of tips. Yet the best advice comes right out of the Bible. After Moses died, God picked Joshua to lead ancient Israel into the Promised Land. At that time, God gave him the secret of success. We read this in Joshua: “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. Study this Book of Instructions continually. Meditate on it day and night, so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Of course, these instructions are specific to Joshua, but they contain a principle that applies to us. God assured Joshua of success if he studied and obeyed the Book of Instructions. If he did that, God said His presence would be with him to assure his success. God has unlimited wisdom, power, and resources, so having His presence is a guarantee of success—as He defines success. The road to victory can often seem like a road to nowhere, because it does not bring instant success. But when you see broken lives of people who ignore God, you realize that His way is the best choice after all.
