The Resurrection of Jesus
Listen to "The Resurrection of Jesus":
Reflect
The women had witnessed Jesus’ death and saw His burial tomb. When they arrived at the tomb, the entrance was no longer blocked. Imagine what it must have felt like to see the stone rolled away and His body no longer there! Inside, only the cloth in which Jesus had been wrapped remained. The cloth testified He had been there. Two angels gave further evidence by reminding the women of Jesus’ words.
When the women told the other disciples, Peter wanted to see it for himself. He also witnessed the empty tomb. Next, Jesus appeared to the disciples, showed them His nail-scarred hands and feet and explained the prophecies about His death and resurrection. We can rest assured that Jesus came back to life. And to guarantee that we would be His witnesses to the ends of the earth, He gave us His empowering Spirit.
