I Am He (S1-E8)Sample

Q&A Session
As Jesus traveled with His disciples, unexpected things often happened, moments that pushed them far outside their comfort zone. One of those moments was when Jesus insisted on going through Samaria. The disciples objected; Jews and Samaritans didn’t mix. But Jesus went anyway.
It’s easy to relate to them, isn’t it? Whenever Jesus leads us somewhere unfamiliar or uncomfortable, we tend to ask questions. “Why this way? Are You sure? Wouldn’t it make more sense to go around?”
We see the same tension when it comes to God’s Word. How do you respond when Scripture challenges you or doesn’t make immediate sense? Do you, like the disciples, start a back-and-forth with Jesus, or do you choose to trust and obey, even before understanding fully?
As Romans 15:4 reminds us, the Scriptures were written to teach us, to give endurance and encouragement, and to anchor us in hope. The Word isn’t just information. It’s formation. It trains our hearts to trust the One who speaks.
In John 1, we read that “In the beginning was the Word… and the Word became flesh.” The Word of God is not only written. It is personal. Jesus Himself is the Living Word, the full revelation of who God is.
And Hebrews 4 describes that Word as “alive and active… sharper than any double-edged sword.” The Word searches us, reveals truth, and shapes us from the inside out.
When you read Scripture, you’re not just studying ancient text. You’re encountering the living presence of Jesus. So be still. Listen. Let His words dwell deeply within you.
Reflection Questions
- How do you respond when Scripture stretches your understanding?
- Do you experience the Word of God as something alive and personal? How so?
- Do you spend enough time in the Word of God?
Prayer
Lord, You are the living Word. You are the perfect revelation of God. Thank You for the Bible. Thank You that it allows me to see more and more of who You are. Lord, help me to read faithfully and to become more and more like You. Amen.
