Faith & Love: A One Year Bible Reading Plan - Part 11

DAY 13 OF 22

Today’s chapter is 1 Thessalonians 3, and today’s verses of the day are verses 12-13. Paul is writing to the church in Thessalonica.

"...and may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you, so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints." 1 Thessalonians 3:12-13

Paul’s desire for the believers is that their hearts will be blameless and holy before our Father. In verse 12, he gives the key to having a blameless and holy heart. He prays that they may increase in love for one another, not only for other believers but for ALL people.

I don’t know how long you have known Jesus, but I have been serving Jesus for 32 years. I remember falling in love with Jesus after discovering His love for me. I did not immediately love everyone. I started loving fellow believers more and more, and even then and now, I sometimes fall short of expressing this love in grace and truth. I am still growing in my love for all. The more I have to do with Jesus through His presence, the Bible, creation, other mature believers, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the more I grow in love.

Pray, as Paul did, that God will help you have a blameless and Holy heart as He increases love for others from within you.
