Reset Quiet

DAY 5 OF 8

RESET YOUR FEARS

"We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One". 2 Corinthians 10:5 (TPT)

Think of imagination like a “nation” in your brain. Your “imagine-nation” is populated with citizens we call thoughts. Each thought in your “imagine-nation” is under an authority– that’s you! You decide where they can live and how much power they can have. For instance, you can choose to build a home for truthful thoughts to come and live.

You can build a home for peace and kindness to come and live…These thoughts make up your ideal population. However, there are other thoughts that can try to enter your “imagine-nation” that are defiant and bring disorder. They can affect the rest of the population in your “imagine-nation.” Things like anger, revenge, retaliation, bitterness, lies, shame, guilt, or worry. These deceptive fantasies oppose God and are rebellious in nature. However, some of these arrogant attitudes only submit to the power of God’s word. The lies of the enemy are spiritual rebels that require supernatural authority.

The only way to overpower lies is with the truth. I’ve heard it said that the ‘truest thing about you is what God says about you.’ So, when you encounter these thoughts or unwelcome invaders, you must capture them and place them into custody, then sentence them to a lifetime of submission to the power of God.

You can say, “who let this lie in here?” or “that thought does not belong here,” …You decide which thoughts can or cannot live in your “imagine-nation.” You can then exercise the authority, given by God’s word, to get them in order. This verse addresses the wars we wage inside our minds every day. God wants to help you win here. He has the power to help you get your thoughts to bow in obedience to Jesus, the anointed one.

Today's Challenge: Locate a toxic thought that needs to be removed from your imagine-nation and consider the truth that needs to replace it.
