DAY 6 OF 14

Have you ever thought, "No one understands what I am going through. I feel so alone. I'm not even sure how to ask for help." When we are suffering — whether it be from illness, the loss of a loved one, bullying, a bad habit we are keeping a secret, or depression — we might find ourselves in a dark place.

When we read the account of the crucifixion, we get a glimpse into the agonizing physical pain of the torture Jesus suffered, but also the emotional pain he endured from being mocked and betrayed. Jesus, though fully God, was experiencing all of this to the point of death as a human. Jesus became the perfect sacrifice for our sin, redeeming us and making us right with God, once and for all time.

Not only did Jesus go through all of this for our salvation, which in and of itself is more than enough and more wonderful than we could ever fully grasp. Our compassionate savior cried out for his mother and friend to care for one another as family as he died on the cross. This paints a powerful picture of Jesus' heart for us to know he sees our suffering — he can relate, and he's in it with you.

When we are hurting, we are never alone. The powerful presence of God is with us through the Holy Spirit. Cry out to Jesus in your time of need. He is with you.

About this Plan

Glow

Over the next two weeks, we'll follow the Easter story as we remember there is always a glimmer of hope, even in the deepest darkness. We'll talk about how Jesus is with us in the darkness and explore what it means that Jesus is the light in the darkness.
