From Silence to Success: The Importance of DiscernmentSample

Not every question needs an answer. Not every statement requires a response.
The most intelligent and successful people in the world are not afraid of silence. Why? Because saying the wrong thing in haste is usually a costly mistake.
The Bible defines discernment as understanding through the Spirit. The gift of discernment allows you to tap into the will of the Holy Father through active listening, prayer, and consideration.
Unfortunately, those signals get crossed and muffled by external distractions and our desire to respond immediately.
Take your time. Listen. Pray. Listen again. You’ll be amazed at what God is able to reveal to you when you take the time to listen with intention.
I encourage you the next time you are confronted with a challenging question that you count to ten, take a breath, and then respond. And when in doubt, talk to the Father. This is a sign of true wisdom.
