From Silence to Success: The Importance of DiscernmentSample

We have more ways than ever to stay connected nowadays, yet communication is still unclear at best.
Why is that? We don’t listen. And how could we? The soundtrack to our lives is composed of beeps, bops, and pings! These distractions don’t just interrupt our human interactions; they take our attention away from our Divine connection, too.
I recently spent some time in silence. I enrolled in a silent retreat in order to remove the distractions from my surroundings and reconnect with myself, my Father, and the mission He’s placed on my heart.
This might’ve been the best thing I’ve ever done. You see, what we forget is even if we don’t realize it, people are watching and listening to us. As children of Christ, we’re called to show God’s love on a daily basis, even when it’s hard.
Especially when it’s hard.
When we don’t take the time to think before we speak or invest moments to truly listen, we do ourselves and our Father a great disservice.
Your words. Your reaction. Your gestures. They can either bring someone closer to God or push them away.
I encourage you to stop, think, pray, and listen before you respond.
Can you think of any communication mishaps you could’ve avoided if you’d tapped into your God frequency before responding?
