Do you dare to doubt?

Nicodemus was a man of knowledge and authority. A respected teacher. A member of the religious elite. When people had questions, they came to him. He carried confidence, answers, and influence – a man accustomed to certainty.

Then he encountered Jesus.

Curious, Nicodemus began to watch and listen. He saw power and wisdom that came not from position or study, but from God Himself. What he once understood so clearly started to unravel. The teacher became a student.

We see the same in Scripture. In John 3, Nicodemus comes to Jesus at night, full of questions. And instead of being turned away, he is invited deeper. Jesus doesn’t shame him for his doubt. He meets Nicodemus where he is. The one known for having answers begins to learn what it means to be born again.

This moment shows that doubt isn’t the enemy of faith – it can be the doorway to a truer one. Jesus doesn’t reject those who question; He calls them closer: Come and see.

Every believer faces moments like this – when what once felt certain begins to shake. The invitation remains the same: bring your questions to Jesus. Let doubt become the starting point for discovery.

Prayer

Lord, you are greater than my understanding. When doubts arise, help me come to you instead of turning away. Teach me to trust you in mystery and to keep seeking truth in your presence. Amen.
