Daniel - Standing FirmSample

Daniel was an Israelite who was taken to live in another country - Babylon. It was a city with a culture very different to what he knew. The people of Babylon didn’t love God, they worshipped false gods and statues. The king ordered that when the music played EVERYONE must bow down and worship the statue or they’d be thrown into a fiery furnace. We don’t face a fiery furnace, but we might find ourselves in a culture surrounded by people who worship things other than God. We have to make a choice to stand firm on God or be swept up living the way everyone else does. How can we make sure we don’t give up on doing the right thing even when others around us are doing the wrong thing? Ephesians 6 talks about the armor of God which helps us stand firm. This armor is truth, righteousness, peace and faith. The armor of God will help us to stand firm.
What happened to Daniel’s friends who worshipped God instead of false statues? Read today’s verses to find out.
