The Lord is our strength and our defense. What a comforting truth to hold onto in the midst of this broken world. When our flesh fails us, or when we feel let down by others, the Lord can still be trusted. He has never failed us; He will never leave us to our own defenses. When we feel afraid or alone, God promises to be the strength of our hearts, and fill all of our needs. The state of our world can generate fear in the hearts of people, but we need to remember that we serve the God of angel armies who defends us against anything we face.
Walk in assurance today that the Lord is your defender, and even more comforting than that—your salvation! He has already saved you and He calls you His own. What are you facing right now that generates fear in your heart? Be reminded that you serve a God who is your defense in times of need, and then allow yourself to be led to worship Him in this moment.
