A Letter to Teens

DAY 1 OF 7

Life is Gift, Not Gain

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

Hey there! If you're a teenager reading this, congrats! Your teenage years are a special time when you're moving from being a kid to becoming an adult. It's a period full of ups and downs, where you might feel confused and face many challenges.

But this time is also about getting ready for the future. You're building the foundation for your life, and with a strong foundation and the right mindset, you'll be able to tackle adulthood with more confidence (and success!)

During these years, you might ask yourself big questions like, "What is the point of life?" or "What do I want to achieve?". Remember, your teenage years are a time of preparation for the future, and it's okay to ask yourself big questions. Keep building that foundation for yourself, and you'll be on your way to a more fulfilling life. It's good to wonder about these things, and one wise man, King Solomon, wrote about his own journey to answer these questions.

He tried everything from seeking wealth to collecting knowledge and pursuing worldly pleasures, but in the end, he found that none of these things could give his life true meaning. So, he concluded that chasing after things only for yourself will leave you feeling empty.

Have you ever wondered what true satisfaction feels like? Well, let me tell you - it's when we find our calling from God through Christ Jesus!

The world often tells us to aim for success and to achieve our personal ambitions, but Solomon reminds us that true success can't be found in material things. Instead, he encourages us to find joy and meaning as gifts from God!

Our perspective changes when we see our lives as a gift from God. We stop striving for personal gain and start living in gratitude towards God. We still work hard and pursue our dreams, but not for our own selfish ambition. Instead, we do it to honor God and show our gratitude for His grace in our lives.

Living with relaxation and gratitude is a life of abundance, and that's what God wants for us. He wants us to enjoy every moment of our lives and to enjoy a close relationship with Him too!

So, remember, life is a gift, not for gain. When we live in gratitude towards God and find our calling from Him, that's when we'll experience true satisfaction and abundance in life!
