Use Your Parachute
Imagine the feeling of skydiving out of a plane. It starts with exhilaration and excitement, but as the ground grows closer, the emotion changes to terror and panic. Thankfully, you remember that you have a parachute. You decide to pull the cord, and immediately your fear is replaced with delight. For many people, temptation and addiction can feel as helpless as free-falling out of a plane. Struggle as you might, you feel like you’re helpless to fight the gravity that’s dragging you down. THAT IS A LIE! You are never helpless. God promises that he will always give you many opportunities to get away. It may involve leaving the party, getting the phone out of your room, or talking to someone. You have a parachute. The only question is if you will use it.
Prayer: Jesus, please help me to recognize that I do not have to give into temptation. Show me how to use the tools you've given me and give me the strength to use them.

About this Plan

There is no such thing as a casual addiction. Alcohol, social media, and even video games can pull us in, and we often wind up handcuffing ourselves to the habits we just can't kick. Jesus offers us the keys to unlock our handcuffs and experience joy and freedom!
