Stop Handcuffing Yourself
“I can stop whenever I want to!” If you need to affirm to others or yourself that you can stop doing something at any time, chances are you are becoming addicted. The Bible reminds us that there is no such thing as a casual addiction. Whatever has a hold of you has become your master, and you, its slave. It might be alcohol, vaping, pornography, social media, or video games. When we cannot abstain from something, we handcuff ourselves to that thing. It's important to remember that Jesus does not want us to be slaves to anything! Right now, Jesus is offering you the keys to unlock our handcuffs, but to begin the process of freedom, you must first admit you are stuck. What has you handcuffed today?
Prayer: Jesus, I know some things in my life have a hold of me. Please help me to have the strength to acknowledge them and seek help getting free of them.

About this Plan

There is no such thing as a casual addiction. Alcohol, social media, and even video games can pull us in, and we often wind up handcuffing ourselves to the habits we just can't kick. Jesus offers us the keys to unlock our handcuffs and experience joy and freedom!
