Resurrection!Sample

The longer ending to Mark actually sheds new light on the details described because this account notes that the disciples wouldn’t believe both Mary and the two disciples from the Emmaus road. This is why when they do finally see Jesus he rebukes them “for their unbelief and hardness of heart” (v14). We see the mercy of Jesus here because even though they had doubted, just after rebuking them Jesus commissions them. Even if we sometimes doubt the resurrection ourselves, Jesus wants to show us that he really is risen and lead us to go into our world with this good news.
