Abide: Praying the PsalmsSample

PRAYING SCRIPTURE
Psalm 125:1–2
Where do you feel safe? For God’s people, the safest “place” is not a place but God Himself. The psalmist said that those who trust in the Lord are unmovable, like Mount Zion (v. 1). Our lives are often filled with risks, uncertainties, and dangers. God sometimes calls us to live outside our comfort zones. In those circumstances, remember that “the Lord surrounds his people” (v. 2). As we trust Him, He makes our paths straight (Prov 3:5−6). Thank the Lord that He is your safe place.

About this Plan

Pray through the fifteen Psalms of Ascent (Psalm 120-134) in this 15-day reading plan and experience a deeper connection to God through His Word. Historically, the Psalms of Ascent were songs worshipers sang as they traveled to the temple or national festivals. Excerpts are from The Abide Bible, which provides various Scripture engagement tools--including praying, journaling, contemplating, and more--to help you meet God in God's Word so He can transform your life.
