Abide: Praying the PsalmsSample

PRAYING SCRIPTURE
Psalm 134:1–3
The final stage of the journey, the last Song of Ascent in the Psalms, the final word that is spoken, is the same for all Zion’s pilgrims: bless. Pilgrims praise the Lord because they have experienced the Lord’s blessings. How has the Lord blessed you? There is no need to wait until the journey’s end to heed your blessings. Begin your prayer by praising the Lord for who He is and His loyal love. Bless Him by living a godly life in deep relationship with Him. Praise Him from your soul (vv. 1–2).

About this Plan

Pray through the fifteen Psalms of Ascent (Psalm 120-134) in this 15-day reading plan and experience a deeper connection to God through His Word. Historically, the Psalms of Ascent were songs worshipers sang as they traveled to the temple or national festivals. Excerpts are from The Abide Bible, which provides various Scripture engagement tools--including praying, journaling, contemplating, and more--to help you meet God in God's Word so He can transform your life.
