"Your Highest Calling" 

DNA is a powerful element in our genetic makeup, and it has become popular to do family history research into the scientific makeup of one’s past. While this is a great tool for your health and wellness, it cannot overshadow the Word of God. Just because you were born with a specific makeup does not change that God says you can live according to His promises. Sure, you were born that way; we were all born into the sinful world. But God says that we can be renewed to His perfect will and were predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son! What an amazing promise. 

Most times we believe what has been told to us for many years. “You have a history of mental illness” or “you have an addictive personality” or “everyone in our family struggled with diabetes” are repeated statements that go undetected in the fabric of our conversations. We anticipate calamity to befall us and act surprised when it does. This is not God’s best, and we can change this pattern of thinking! Your highest and truest calling is to be like Christ. You were created to be like Him, and anything out of alignment with that truth must be removed from your life. 

Renewal Thought: Your truest self is to be like Christ. Your highest calling is to be like Jesus Christ and walk in His promises. Anything outside of this should be subjected to the Word of God and renewed. 
 
Prayer: Thank you, Father, for the new faith that is growing in me. I am a new person, with a new heart and a new mind. I pray you are leading me to new life in every way. I am not bound to the failures of my past. Thank you, God, for the blood of Jesus that gives me a new spiritual DNA. Health, strength and success in life are in my future. I believe You are working in me.
