"Every Stubborn Thought" 

We have all witnessed the child in the grocery store that is stubborn and wants to have something the parent is unwilling to give. We watch as the parent tries to train their child that just because they want something, doesn’t mean they can have it! What are we watching when parents are engaged in this process? It is a battle of wills, and the parent is trying to show that their way is the right way and the one that will prevail. 

When we want to live selfish and destructive lives, the Word of God is showing us the way to live right. Just because we want that thing doesn’t mean we should have it, and just because we had the thought doesn’t mean it was good and beneficial. We can grab thoughts and throw them out. When the thought crosses your mind that is negative, destructive, or damaging, put it against the truth of God’s Word and watch what happens. 

Renewal Thought: Areas in my life where I am stuck reveals a truth in the Bible that I do not fully believe. Are you having stubborn and destructive thoughts? Find a scripture that speaks to that issue and confess that scripture over your life.

Prayer: Lord, I repent of the stubborn thoughts and behaviors that have kept me down. I turn away from every thought that will stop the flow of Your Blessing in my life. I pray, God, for the grace to change and renew my mind. I pray You are leading me to new life in every way.
