What do we accomplish by staying the same, year after year and month after month? Our purpose in this life is to grow, to increase the kingdom of God. Is there purpose in your current life? God wants you to grow. God wants more from you. Your life as an ambassador of Christ is supposed to be abundant. You owe God that much; you owe your neighbor that much. If you can’t find purpose or motivation, then inspiring the next person should motivate you. There are people who need a hero. They need a champion. Loving my neighbor as I love myself usually becomes associated with being nice or caring for them. I believe this is true, but it also should be inspiring them by our lives to live for Christ.

I remember when I was in middle school playing football, we would practice across the street from the high school team. They were nationally ranked at the time, and they had a few blue-chip all-American guys that were nothing shy of spectacular. We could hear the excitement and the intensity across the street. They were bigger and faster than us at the time. They seemed like heroes to a degree. It was the big stage, the lights, the fans, and cheerleaders… Going to the games and watching the community cheer them on inspired me to want to be on that level. I aimed to be a part of the glory of a Muskogee Roughers; the chance of being a part of the LOD defense (Legion of Doom) was my goal. This was only the case because of the attitude they carried. There was a certain mystique about being a part of a hard-nose defense. We were tough and would hurt anyone that played against us.

This should be true about our lives as Christians (not hurting anyone); we are heirs to the Throne of God. We are to walk in favor and grace everywhere we go. We should inspire people to be like us. This will give us a chance to give God the glory. He is worthy to be praised, and He is worthy to live for. Make sure that you are the light wherever you set foot and that you are a great ambassador for Christ!
