God Works for My Good A senior colleague at the office once called, saying she wanted to talk to me. She didn’t mention the reason. Curiosity got the better of me as my mind raced and wondered why she wanted to meet me. Immediately I went down a path that caused me to think the worst thoughts. As I did that, God suddenly got a hold of me and reminded me that He is with me and for me. He will never leave me (Hebrews 13:5). When He is by my side, there is no reason to think the worst; He has an abundance of good things in store for me and He can turn things around for my benefit. I don’t know if you’ve ever been through a similar situation. But it’s natural, human tendency to think of the worst, panic and tremble, when we see the slightest problem or hear the tiniest piece of bad news. We fail to remember that God loves us and lavishes us with blessings. We may not always see the good in every situation we go through. But we can stand on the promise that God has given us, and we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). So even though everything may be going wrong and you can’t see a glimmer of hope, remember that God’s Word is true and His promises never fail. He has good things planned for you and can turn your worst problem into a blessing. Are you still wondering about the meeting with my senior colleague? It went really well!
