Making an Impact on Our Cities Joab encouraged King David’s army to fight valiantly against the people of Ammon and Syria. The Israelite army trusted that God would help them fight their battles and give them the victory against their enemies. Today, when we face different battles, we need to be strong in our faith and take a bold and courageous stand against the opposition. The crime rate is rising in our cities, there are extremes in our climate; drought in certain places and floods in others. We need to believe God’s promises. We need to be vigilant and prayerful, knowing that the second coming of the Lord is near, and these are merely signs of the end times. The Lord may give us a burden to stand in the gap and pray for our cities. We may be placed in very strategic places of influence, where we can influence changes in the laws made concerning our cities. Something important to note is that our unity and oneness as Christians causes God to command His blessings on us and on our land. Living godly and exemplary lives, speaking about the love and finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross will have a profound and positive effect on our city. God’s ways are different when He intervenes on our behalf. The Lord has a plan for our lives and for the people in this land. He has purposefully placed us here, to impact the lives of those around us. Are we ready to take up the challenge of influencing our city for Jesus? Prayer Dear Father, thank You for placing me in this city. Help me to have a godly impact on the lives of those around me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
