Let Blessings Overtake You Israel’s whole future centered upon her relationship with God. She had experienced redemption from Egypt, been protected and preserved by God for 40 years. Now she was on the verge of crossing the river Jordan to enter God’s land of promise. If the nation had learned anything, it was that all true blessings flow from God. You cannot count on man. It is God who blesses man. The greater blesses the lesser. As New Testament believers, it is God who has redeemed us out of the bondage of sin, by the blood of His Lamb, Jesus Christ. We must always look to God as the source of all blessing. If we hear the Lord and live in obedience to His commandments and His word, then we know we are on the road to receive His blessings. Fill yourself with the Word of God, stay close to the people of God, be involved in doing the things of God and His will, and God will bless you tremendously. Now that is easily said, but not always easy to carry out. The flesh, the devil, and the world will fight to pull you away from the will and the Word of God. Only as you become purposed and determined to keep yourself focused upon God and His Word, will you become successful. God’s blessings are activated by our choices. God will not save you against your will. We have to choose between God and Satan, eternal life and death, a life of blessings or one of curses. We must choose for ourselves! The secret to securing the blessings of God is to choose obedience over rebellion. Prayer Heavenly Father, help us to be obedient and make the right choices every day. Forgive our sins and bless our lives, so that we can bless others. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
