Purpose in Pain

DAY 3 OF 4

Welcome to day 3. Today we will be focusing on Romans 28:8. We can find great comfort in this verse because during the waiting period, and the sufferings we go through, it helps us understand that none of it is wasted. Through Christ, every suffering is meaningful. Even if the pain isn't taken away at that moment, our trust in God allows us to overcome and get through the circumstances.

What Paul is telling us about this verse should be comforting for us. The promises of God will never fail. Loving God is what living in Christ looks like. Every one of us has been called to fulfill God’s purpose. God is the one who causes all things to work together for the greater good. So be confident that God will prevail in your current situation. There is nothing that can separate us from the love of God.

Reflection

What are some things we could do while going through suffering in the waiting period?

Are you willing to stand on the promise of God through your sufferings?

Prayer

Lord, I put my hope in you now. I stand on your promises knowing that your plans for my life will never fail. Even if the pain isn't taken away at the moment, I trust and know that your unfailing love, and your goodness are enough. No matter my feelings or emotions, I pray each day that I'm able to express my love to you and live through you. For we know that you cause everything we go through to work out for a greater purpose. Amen.
