Treasure Hunt With MollySample

Look at things from heaven's perspective
“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” – Colossians 3:2 NIV
Molly says:
Amelda had a terrible meltdown when I didn't accept her offer to buy the boots. She accused me of awful things, and it hurt my heart. I had to let her go because I had a mission to complete.
After my terrible fall in the field opposite my school, there was a tiny crack in my glasses. It didn't bother me much, but Reginald insisted that we go see Dr. Oscar, the local optometrist. The shy but friendly chameleon fixed my glasses in a jiffy.
I couldn't believe how different everything looked when I put on my new glasses. Fortuitous Town was filled with bright, vibrant colours. The entire town was full of light and joy.
When I bumped into Amelda again, these glasses helped me see what (or who) was behind her terrible behaviour in Milady Mouse's shop. I could forgive her for all the hurtful things she said and did.
Things are not always as they seem. Sometimes we have to take a deeper look.
“Always look beyond what you can see if you want the true perspective.” – Dr. Oscar
Look at things from heaven's perspective
Sometimes we can be tempted to react to a situation without taking the time to look deeper. The Bible says we don’t war against flesh and blood but against powers and principalities. Having a higher perspective helps us find the right way (and a much more effective way) to deal with difficult relationships or circumstances.
Are there relationships or circumstances that you find a little tricky?
How can you look at this relationship or problem from a heavenly perspective?
Today's Treasure Hunt
Find objects that remind you to take a deeper look at things.
- A Bible Verse that reminds you to have a heavenly perspective
- A magnifying glass or binoculars.
- A picture of you and your best friend.
Let's Pray
Heavenly Father,
Thank you that you open the eyes of my heart. Help me to find the right perspective in difficult circumstances and relationships. Help me to recognise when it is important to forgive people who hurt me.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen
