Have you ever been given an assignment and didn't know where you were supposed to start? Maybe it was a piece of furniture with no instructions. You begin to have an inner dialogue like, "Is this supposed to be done this way? Am I putting this in the right place? Wait, I think I should start over." Sometimes, when we're trying to follow God's plans, it feels exactly like this! How do you know if you're on the right track?
There's a man in the Bible, Joshua, who hears from God! God tells Joshua to keep God's words close to him to guide him when he doesn't know what to do next. So how do you stay on track in life? You need to call the manufacturer and find out what those instructions mean! When we ask God to be alongside us while learning more about the Bible, we better understand what we're being asked to do.
How can you ask for help when learning from the Bible?
