What would it be like if you were at home scrolling on your phone and you got a knock at the door — someone asking you to get up and follow them? It would surely be a moment you couldn't prepare for, and hopefully, you wouldn't follow just anyone.
What do you think this meant for the disciples? Peter and his brother, Andrew, were on a boat catching fish, and in the middle of them laying down their nets, Jesus called their names. From fishermen to fisher of men in an instant. Talk about a drastic life change! Jesus was not playing games. He was on a roll! After Peter and Andrew, he saw the sons of Zebedee and called them, too. The Bible says the sons of Zebedee left their boat and father immediately and followed Jesus. At that moment, the disciples didn't fully know they were the first to be hand-picked to follow God in the flesh! Jesus was coming with news that would change their present situation for good.
How about you? What do you believe Jesus has called you to do?

About this Plan

It wouldn’t be Christmas without angels! You’ll find them everywhere this Christmas season. They’re on Christmas trees, ornaments, greeting cards, carols, movies, and nativity sets. They’re all over the pages of Scripture, too. That’s because angels played an important role in the very first Christmas. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we’ll discover why angels were and still are so important in the Christmas story.
