CatalystSample

If you're a fan of teen movies from the 90s, you know a common theme is "the makeover." That's right, going from "drab to fab." While much of it can be problematic—you know, essentially telling people they're not amazing just as they are—it shows that we as people are fascinated with transformation. And if a catalyst is something that helps something else change, that would mean it's part of a transformation process.
So how do we go about being catalysts in our own lives? We undergo transformation ourselves. Today's verse reminds us the more we learn about God's words, the more change we see happen in our lives—in our thoughts, habits, and relationships. In order to be a catalyst, we've got to be willing to be transformed by God's words.
How can you spend time with God this week in a way you haven't before?

About this Plan

Science can explain the mysteries in the world around us; there are answers for many of the mysterious things about faith too. You’ll learn in science class that “catalysts” are interactions that create big changes and transformations. Scripture shows us certain change-making “catalysts” are necessary for our faith and the faith of others. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll explore the catalysts for our faith.
