Psalms: Window to Our Souls, Part 2Sample

These passages describe the three festivals the Hebrews traveled for to Jerusalem each year to worship and remember what God had done for them.
These annual pilgrimages are a good illustration for how our relationship with God is to be like: a constant cycle of active journeying and remembering what the Lord has done for us. For His glory and our good, He calls us to live at a different wavelength from the world, prioritizing being with Him over our careers, wealth, even our friends and family. It is an uphill battle to make that time to be with Him consistently, but we are not alone in our striving. God promises to provide for us (Exodus 34:24) as we choose to put Him first in our lives.
Make a regular appointment to be with God. This could be a five-minute daily or weekly meeting, if you've never met with Him regularly before, or you could schedule an extended retreat (a half day or full day or more) to be with Him. Wherever you are in the journey, take a small and sustainable step forward as the Lord leads. Pilgrimages are often in groups, so this would be a great opportunity to find someone to journey alongside of!
