Pillar 7 - Power

“Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God which He promised before through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh, and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.” – Romans 1:1-4 NKJV

There are so many verses in the bible, both Old and New Testament, that speak to the Holy Spirit and power, as being closely connected. The primary focus today is the power of the Holy Spirit to bring to life that which is dead.

Jesus was raised from the dead. As this is true, the scripture above reveals something to us as believers. That is that Jesus was declared to be the Son of God with power by being raised from the dead, according…to who? According to the Spirit of holiness. The power of the Holy Spirit is revealed in the miracle of the resurrection. According to the bible that same power lives within each of His believers.

According to Romans 8:11, if the Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead dwells within us, he will give us life. In Romans 6: 11 Paul writes that we should be dead to sin. When Jesus died, he was resurrected by the Spirit, when we die to sin, that same Spirit resurrects us to life with God.

Now as born-again believers we can walk in the Power of the Holy Spirit. We are truly new and born again in the sight of God. The process is miraculous, living it out is not always comfortable, but miraculous, nonetheless. God’s promise of eternal life, renewal, and forgiveness is so good that many people willingly give all they have, to die to themselves. In order for someone to be willing die to themselves, this requires an act of trust in the Lord.

What are you choosing to trust in? Hopefully your trust is fully in God’s promised Son and everything that he said. When we go this far and give our life over to the Master, we die to sin and now it is up to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit to bring us back to life again, not life as usual but a new life. From this point on, we are able to spend the rest of our life learning from God and walking not only in newness of life but in POWER! May God Bless you today. Amen!

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15: 13 NKJV

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7. NKJV

Yet there is more, there is someone called the Spirit of Truth in the Bible, this is God’s own spirit, also known as Holy Spirit:

“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:” – John 16: 13.

Jesus reveals that Holy Spirit is the one who will guide us into all truth. Yet we also know that Jesus is ‘the truth’. This has me rethinking an aspect of the words shared above, and that is Holy Spirit must be as the ropes that get tied around the buckets, which are being drawn to the up to the eternal light - the light (Jesus himself) that is the doorway to eternity.

Now we can see the Trinity working together as one, to redeem the lost, empty, and broken buckets of the world. Jesus is full of the Father, and we must be full with Jesus, which is done by the guidance of his Spirit. May God bless you today, my brother! Amen
